Here is the BEST way to bring in a new year:

Raking the New Year in

1. Bringing in the new year with family is a MUST.

This year we were able to go to my Grandma and Grandpas house for New Years. The night before we put the kids to bed at the reg time. I did have grand plans of a fun count down. But really, since they are little, it was just as easy (for everyone) to keep them on their regular schedule. Gregg and I didn't even make it to midnight. Actually, I don't think we have EVER made it to midnight...

2. Getting out of the house is a must do as well. 

No, my granddaddy didn't make us rake his lawn!! He brilliantly suggested the kids get out and play in the leaves. Brilliant on his part of course because everyone wins!

Start with a little bit of Silly

Add in some leaf throwing

And pretty soon EVERYONE is having a grand time.

Even Juan came out to join us.

 And because rolling around in leaf piles is NOT enough...

This began.

We really had a great time visiting my family and even got to enjoy a late Christmas with everyone.
