We really had a fantastic Christmas this year! We didn't do a whole lot this time and we didn't even have an eventful countdown like we try to do each year. I did wrap 25 Christmas books and had the kids open one each night. I think Mason had a great time with that, and it didn't hurt that it made me feel like an excellent mom... All that reading EACH night (like we are supposed to do.. right?)
Merry Christmas!
The Kids enjoyed having a tree in their own room this year. Mason got to decorate it exactly how he wanted to and each night they both fell asleep under the lights. I really think they RE-decorated the tree each night too...
All Kade wanted for Christmas was Lightning McQueen
We had a great time picking out a real tree again this year.
It was especially fun because Kade was old enough to take part this time. He was amazed at all the trees and kept running from tree to tree 'finding the perfect one'.
"How about this one?"
"Or this one?"
running up and down the aisles of trees
Do you notice the bats in the top left corner? Yes, Those are from Halloween... They are probably going to stay there until we move. We now refer to our home as 'The Bat Cave".
watching a Christmas movie
"Look at the star!"
"Oh Wow!"
The highlight of our Christmas was when our darling niece and nephew (with their awesome parents!!) came to visit us! I am pretty sure that this was the best part of our holiday; It was completely laid back and fun!
finished Ginger Bread house
Cousins
We enjoyed a stroll through Moody Gardens to look at the lights, (tex) Mexican food, Gingerbread house (CANDY), and even a fun trip to a bounce house with Faith's brother. It was really nice seeing the kids play together. Hmm... Maybe, ONE DAY, we can figure out how to live in the same state?? Seriously would be awesome.
Our son is now in KINDERGARTEN! When he was a baby we would talk about where we would be when Mason would finally be in school. It never seemed real to me, but here we are. We are two weeks away from his 6th birthday and he amazes me everyday. His little spirit is growing into this amazing boy with dreams and a huge imagination! The way he tells things, it seems as though he enjoys being the funny guy at school with his friends. He has a great appreciation for family and loves his little brother. This semester (spring 2012) Mason will start his first season of soccer.
Kade Eli
Ah, Kader. A little over 2 yrs and he is quite the little monkey!
Not a ton has changed in the realm of what keeps him occupied, He still LOVES cars, has a thing for opening and shutting doors and enjoys food. Seriously - he wakes up every morning asking for a snack. On the other hand his has grown tremendously. I am grateful to be able to stay home with him during the day and I enjoy watching him put thoughts and words together into sentences. He surprises me all the time with things that he is learning. Kade's biggest joy has got to be Mason. He waits for mason to arrive home from school and everyday there is a welcome home (I've missed you entirely) wrestle match. With. Out. Fail.
I LOVE this! I really miss you guys.
