Like the title says, " HAPPY NEW YEARS!!"
A lot has happened since we left our house christmas eve to celebrate christmas at our families houses.
We went up to my grandparents house christmas eve night and arrived just in time to set out the cookies Mason and I had baked earlier for santa and his "staff "(which apparently didn't contain Vanilla Extract... Yes, his very loving "staff " {Gregg} let me know this...) We all went to bed and woke up at a resonable hour, 10 a.m., to be exact, and had christmas before lunch was served. Mason LOVED what santa brought him, Batman PJs, a one foot tall Batman doll and the most awesome thing was the Batmobile that launches batman out on his motorcycle. Yes, Gregg played with that thing for a very long time before allowing our son to enjoy it!! And of course, no one actually opened a present because Mason decided he was the self appointed present opener for everyone! The next day, My brothers and Gregg and I had an airsoft war. While this was a ton of fun I quickly decided the quarter sized welts I had gained weren't for me and let the boys enjoy the gun war without me... I decided to stay inside and fight my battle out over guitar hero. again, I found out all too soon that my brothers obviously have more time to spend on these games and were incredibly talented with the guitars.
On Saturday we said our goodbyes and headed south towards Houston. After arriving around dinner time we spent the rest of the evening letting the two cousins reunite and play. Sunday was a day of church in the morning a much needed nap in the afternoon and more bonding time in the evening. On Monday we went to a museum. It was AWESOME. It was called the museum of natural history and the exhibit was something titled about the human body... It was real human bodies preserved and you could only see the muscles, veins, bones or whatever they were trying to show with the particular body. It really was cool despite the lack of my description... it also had fetuses at various stages in development, a pregnant woman with the fetus inside of her, It was really neat...
after the museum we went back to Gregg's parents house to try and put the kiddos to sleep. NO SUCH LUCK!! So we took them to the park and enjoyed a fun game of football. Mason was so cute playing football with us. He was assigned a player to tackle and was given the ball to throw. It was a lot of fun having him be older this year and to actually participate in what we were doing. I remember last year thinking to myself that he would NEVER grow out of the stage he was in and that I would be stuck chasing him around for the rest of my life. Thankfully I was just sleep deprived or something and my wonderful boy is in fact amazing!
We headed back north to good ol bryan,tx after that and came back home refreshed and ready to tackle all the mess in our apartment. The next day was our 3rd anniversary. Gregg took me to Olive Garden and we talked about our past, present and future came home and watched indiana jones the crystal skull. I LOVE YOU GREGG :P
Well Christmas is all packed (a little soon yes I know) and we are ready for the new year.
This upcoming year is an important year for us. Gregg has applied to pharmacy school and we should find out the results later on this semester. With that we will HOPEFULLY be going to pharmacy school and therefore be moving to a new city (Which I have never left college station so this will be very exciting!!)
I also plan on going back to school full time in the fall this year, which will be a change because I have just been taking classes here and there.
Tonight for dinner I made black eyed peas and then had to make the boys eat those black eyed peas so that we could have good luck this year, So who knows what this new year may bring but I DO know that I am READY!
Two things---I have to make my kids eat black-eyed peas, too, but Bess seems to stay lucky anyway.
ReplyDelete---I had heard about that museum exhibit and wondered if it was good. I think B would like it, but J acted like he was grossed out just thinking about it. Houston, right??
